I started an afghan Saturday night, and finished it Monday morning before I started work. Using up tons of part skeins of yarn, holding two strands together and using an "N" hook, with a simple "V-stitch", I am really happy with the results. The only rules i stuck to is to alternate three main dark colors (red, blue and green) and to use on dark and one light color all the way through
I want to do another one, using up some of the varigated yarns I've had in my stash for years. One varigated and one solid color should work up nice and fast as well.
And I've been working on simple fingerless gloves. I don't use 4 needles, so I am sort of trapped using very easy patterns.... I don't like them as well, but I do already have 4 pair done. I can almost do one pair a night. I found a wonderful butterfly pattern here, and i'm having a lot of fun with it.
Now to order dinner in so that i don't have to cook tonight. I want to knit some more!
Do something creative every day!

and so a new beginning
what better reason to start a new blog than an awesome art day with my best art buddy. the last time phillip and i went shopping, he helped me pick out new christmas ornaments. we had been talking about the new stages of my life, life after my kids have moved out and my house is finally my own... and so the new ornaments. he bought me medium bright colors in green, red, orange, blue and purple, in two sizes. adding bright pink to the smaller sizes gave us 54 ornaments. super fine glitter and picking out glue was all that was left to do well, that, and
finding the time to glitter the ornaments! what a great day. we started at 3 in the afternoon and worked until dinner, chatting and glittering and laughing at our glitches. a dinner break (chinese ordered!) and back to work. i even had to stop to fit a customer into her dress for an upcoming wedding, and back to work. i think clean up started about 11 p.m., but what a great day we had, and my silver tree looks amazing with all the new ornaments glittering back at me life is short. be creative!
